TSSA's 2023 Trunk Slammers Awareness and Enforcement Program
As part of its ongoing commitment to protecting Ontarians from the dangers posed by fraudulent fuels workers, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) has launched its fourth annual 'Trunk Slammers' Awareness and Enforcement Program, which runs throughout Fraud Prevention Month.

The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) will host a webinar with Sam Sadeghi, Statutory Director of Fuel Safety, and Anil Lal, Manager of Engineering & Technical Services Manager, that highlights:

• TSSA’s initiatives to raise public awareness about the risks of hiring uncertified gas technicians and unregistered contractors
• TSSA authorization holder requirements, obligations and rights
• TSSA’s efforts to eliminate the underground market

Anil Lal
Fuels Safety Engineering & Technical Services Manager @TSSA
Anil Lal is Fuels Safety Engineering & Technical Services Manager with TSSA. He manages the investigatory team to develop programs to ensure a level and safe playing field for regulated trades and the broader public who rely on fuel-powered systems every day. Anil is a Chemical Engineer (P. Eng) with expertise in industrial gases engineering, construction, and facilities management at Linde AG, Air Liquide, and Ellis Don. He has also worked closely with general contractors, engineers, and various skilled trades in designing, building, and maintaining complex facilities across North America.
Sam Sadeghi
Fuels Safety Director @TSSA
Sam Sadeghi is Fuels Safety Director with TSSA, responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Fuels regulations in Ontario. Sam is a Professional Engineer and a Project Management Professional (PMP) with 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the fields of energy and public safety, and holds an MBA.
